KONUS KONEX is a company based in Slovenske Konjice, a town in the north-eastern part of Slovenia, a young Central European country. KONUS KONEX is a continuation of the KONUS industrial system founded in Slovenske Konjice back in 1894. Over one hundred years of tradition in leather manufacturing and a thoroughly considered development strategy have established KONUS as a wellknown trademark in the market. With the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia, Konus developed into a number of small companies.
KONUS KONEX is a continuing KONUS' extraordinary tradition, which has become in the Company's mission. Accordingly, the market desires both a high level of know-how and constant technological innovations.
KONUS KONEX employs 170 workers. Annual turnover amounts to DEM 25 million and the profit earned is regularly invested in development activities and new programmes. Over 80% of the company's production is exported to the European Union, to overseas countries (in particular the USA).
A characteristic feature of our production and sales programmes is their high level of specialisation. Thus, our products are mainly intended for industry and are only partially sold directly to consumers.
KONUS KONEX is a company with a complex network of both production and trading affiliates located in Russia, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine and Moldavia. Moreover, the company's representative offices are based in Macedonia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria. In addition, our business plan involves the establishment of highly - developed production and sales networks in the markets of Eastern Europe.
KONUS KONEX is a company with future orientations towards the third millennium. Quality, knowledge, development and strict observation of delivery terms, complete devotion to individual client, and a well- considered expansion of production and sales affiliates and representative offices all over the world are the features of our operations. KONUS KONEX's plans involve additional product development and the acquisition of even bigger market shares in the field of environmental programmes (filtration), drive units and transport. This year, the Company was granted the ISO 9001 certificate and started activities designed to also acquire a ISO 14001 certificate for the field of ecology. This is how KONUS KONEX will participate in the joint endeavours to clean up environment we all live in. Therefore, the Company aims to invest in both existing production and new programmes.
